Into the West
"Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away. Safe in my arms, you're only sleeping..." ~Into the West, LotR

I was sitting in PreCalc today, half-listening to my teacher talk about stuff I learned in Intermediate Algebra, and started to think about free verse and poetry and prose and writing in general, and what it is, or can be sometimes.
This is what I came up with:

Soggy paper
Dripping with grief
Soaked with rage
Dipped in emotion
Drenched with frustration
As strong rivers of feeling
Pour out of my soul
Onto the paper before me
Unchecked by reality
Unrestrained by rational though
Pieces of my spirit
Splattering the paper with bits of me
Captured forever
Soggy paper
Dripping with sap
Soaked with romance
Dipped in emotion
Drenched with ecstasy
As my imagination takes flight
And worlds collide
On the paper before me
Unchecked by reality
Unrestrained by rational thought
Pieces of my heart
Splattering the paper with bits of me
Captured forever
Soggy paper
Dripping with tears
Soaked with confusion
Dipped in emotion
Drenched with despair
As my deepest fears
Crawl out of my head
Onto the paper before me
Unchecked by reality
Unrestrained by rational thought
Pieces of my mind
Splattering the paper with bits of me
Captured forever
Soggy paper

Just in case you were interested. *grin*

Oh. One more, but I didn't write this:

I'm so very ordinary
Nothing special on my own
I have never walked on water
I have never calmed a storm
Sometimes I'm hiding away from the madness around me
Like a child who's afraid of the dark
But when I call on Jesus
All things are possible
I can mount on wings like eagles and soar
When I call on Jesus
Mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call
Weary brother
Broken daughter
Widowed, widowed lover
You're not alone
If you're tired and scared of the madness around you
If you can't find the strength to carry on
Call Him in the mornin'
In the afternoon time
Late in the evenin'
He'll be there
When your heart is broken
And you feel discouraged
You can just remember that He said
He'll be there

Have a great day! ;-)
