Into the West
"Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away. Safe in my arms, you're only sleeping..." ~Into the West, LotR

"Let It Go"

Newsboys

You are waiting on a beach
For a healing word to come
Maybe an apology in a bottle
Maybe a flare that says
"I'm sorry"
And the hurting leaves you numb
Will you forgive
Will you forget
Will you live what you know
He left His rights
Will you leave yours
You won't understand it
Let it go
You are waiting on a beach
This is where the East meets West
And as another sun sets on your anger
The darkness laughs
As the wound destroys
And it turns your prayers to noise
Will you forgive
Will you forget
Will you live what you know
He left His rights
Will you leave yours
You won't understand it
Let it go
This bitterness you hide
It seeps into your soul
'Til it's all you know
Let it go
Will you forgive
Will you forget
Will you live what you know
Beneath the Cross
You hear His words
"Father, forgive them"
And you know
You can't understand it
Let it go

Numbers

Math is nice.
Numbers line up in neat little rows.
They don't have emotions.
They only go where you want them to.
They only do what they're told.
They mess up if they go against the rules.
And there's only ONE answer.
Just many ways to write it.
If a function is sick, it goes to the L'Hopital.
End behavior is predictable.
There are limits.
You can differentiate.
They never get so messed up that you can't do something with them.
And they don't get mad at you.
Even if you get the wrong answer.
They let you start over again.

Have I mentioned that I like numbers?

You're a Winter. You very much enjoy your time
alone but do like other people's company
sometimes. You just need your space. You have a
few priviledged friends who saw past your
colder exterior to find the true you. You can
have pretty bad mood swings (though you hate to
admit it) so you could be soft one second then
storming around the next! But over all, you're
a very pleasant person once people take the
time to get to know you. You're a good friend
for in-depth talks. You're very talanted when
it comes to creative things.(If you can't see
the pics, go to my homepage and look near the
bottom and find your result)

Of Tables and Spanish

Kathey!!!!!!!!!!

We are so good!!
It looks extraordinarily spiffy!
If we do say so ourselves.
And we do!!!
I'm so proud of us.
We're so talented, I'm jealous.

(We painted the Sunday School tables today. Well, we got half of them done, anyway.)

And Spanish wasn't horrid.

I'd say that today was a good day.

Even if I do have blue paint on my hands that I haven't quite managed to scrape off.

Cell Phones

I got a new antenna for my cell phone today.
No, Derek, you may not play with it.
I also got a new battery.
So if you've been listening to me complain about the short battery life, hopefully that will stop now.

Also, Dr. Seymour gave me a 6 of 6 on my last two essays. I finally got them back. That made me very, very happy.

Boredom

My class was cancelled.
My 8am class.
Which means I have absolutely nothing to do for the next hour and a half.
Straight up evil.
If I had a car, I'd go sleep in it for an hour.
Or drive to Jamba Juice.
One of those two.
Mr. Clymer says I should start a riot.
Do you think it would happen if I stood in the middle of the campus and started shouting, "Four more years!"?
Or is everyone too tired right now to protest?

Blogonchitis?

I think the blogs have caught colds. They don't seem to be very active as of late.
Probably the change in weather.
The atmospere does funny things to immune systems.
I'm sure that applies to computers as well.

Frustration

You know what I hate?

I hate it when a math problem doesn't give you enough values to find the variables.

That's what I hate.

Twisted Observations

Have you ever dragged your eyelids open, under severe protest, of course, some morning and realized that you didn't know anyone? I mean, if a person stood in front of you, there would be recognition, but if you said something you would have no idea how they would react. You can see emotions on their face, but you've forgotten how to interpret them; indeed, if you ever knew in the first place. They say something and you have to wonder what they meant by that. You have no idea how to respond, you don't know how to act, and it's almost like you're speaking a foreign language. You might as well be for all the communication that gets accomplished. It's as if you've been plucked from your world and shoved into a twisted parody. A bad farce, in which nobody is who they seem to be, who they claim to be, or who they ought to be. You sift through various relationships, conversations, actions, and situations, trying to feel what you did before, desperately trying to make sense of it all, wondering when your life became so complex. All of a sudden, you realize that it's no use trying, because as soon as you make sense of something, or link an action/reaction sequence together, the table gets tipped, and the rules are changed all over again, and you're back where you started. Things that occupied space are 2D, and those flat images you didn't pay any attention to earlier have expanded to include depth in their dimensions. Nothing is logical and all sense of order has flown out the window. Your mind spins in a confused whirl, trying to find something that's familiar, but it's like I said: you don't know anyone any more. And what's really bad about not knowing anyone is that you are truly alone in a crowd.

Yeah. So, anyways. Then I. And of course I had to. And after that we. Oh, and I can't forget that. In any case, I think. But you know. And when they. Before that, I. When I went there, I had. It was. And of course, they. But then. And.... Well, that's. So. Now you know.

Cold Hands

Night has fallen
A thousand stars glitter in the sky
Like raindrops on black velvet
Or diamonds sprinkled among coal
A cool breeze blowsAnd it's quiet
Too quiet
The silence haunts me
The emptiness taunts me
The stillness only serves to remind me
That you're not there
Your seat is vacant
My hand is cold
My voice echoes in my ears
And no reply comes
All I know is loneliness
All I feel is emptiness
When I raise my eyes to meet yours
All I see are stars
The breeze turns to wind
A bitter wind that stings my face
Clouds roll in to cover the stars
The stars that held such wonder for us
Such promise, such future
And the rain falls
It washes away my tears
And dries my fears
And sweeps away the past
But I still feel the loss
A thousand thunderstorms
Could never make me forget
The way you looked at me
A million raindrops
Could never erase the sound of your voice
From my mind
And I do mind
I mind that fate has seen fit to fling us apart
I mind that the bench beside me is cold
The clouds are blown away by the biting wind
And my heart is bathed in moonlight
Dried in the night air
Kissed to sleep by the cool breeze
The stars are particularly dazzling tonight
They glitter coldly, silent and harsh
And my hand is still cold

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Yes, I know it looks terrible right now.
Don't pretend it doesn't.
I know it does.
I started on it.
Now I have to go do something else.
Just put up with it for a little while.
I'll fix it, I promise.
