HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Current!
Current is like a virus
We're inducted with
We're so naive
Wouldn't be wonderful
If magnets were just as you perceive
Physics is inhuman!
Worthless!
Coarse and savage on the average
Never to be trusted
Completely maladjusted
It's true
But if I understood it, too
I might have been as good as you
She found me inductive
My opera magnet
And like a fool I believed she was too
I held the world inside my poles
An electromotor full in my prime
When she took away my current
Reversed my poles a second time
Nothing lasts forever, she said
Find the door yourself, dear, and won't you
Think me still your power
I've treasured every hour
It's true
But if you had current, too
I might have been as good as you
I came upon her sometime later
The electromagnets had not been very kind
She had this broken coil and more
She was broken to the core
Nothing lasts forever, Edward
Take good care, and oh yes,
Won't you take our lovely magnet
For you see, she has no current
But I'm still your power
I'll just burn out elsewhere
Tell her my core is surrounded by wire
Mis Ohm, I tell you this because
I want you to know
With some luck
With some extra
Physics tutoring
My scores
Would have been as good as yours

*sigh*

School blindsided me this year.
And believe it or not, it's not the six thirty mornings with the eight a.m. class that are killing me.
It's the amount of homework.
Not that it's hard or anything.
It's just... time-consuming.
That's not harsh enough.
It's time-devouring.
Every last bit of spare time I thought I might have during M-Th is eaten up by homework.
And most of my weekends, too.
On the upside, I dropped my Spinning class like a hot potato.
It was killing me.
And I only took one class.
Crystal is suicidal, I'm convinced.
Hannah, too.
But tomorrow I don't have to do anything much.
Except homework.
Surprise, surprise.
Erm...
Spanish is going better than I thought it would.
Probably because it's expanding upon what I already know, as opposed to putting something where there was nothing.
Bilingual service on Sunday. That should be fun.
Get to learn Church jargon in Spanish.
Suddenly, instead of two journal entries to write, I have five.
Jumped from twenty minutes to nearly an hour.
Wow.
I'm tired.
Can you tell?
I'd like to sleep and sleep and sleep tomorrow,
But after a week and a half of going to sleep at ten and waking up at six thirty, I don't think it's going to happen.
Can't say I'm sorry.
I was getting a little tired of sleeping all day, anyway.
I like my CT class.
I like Dr. Seymour.
What are some assumptions that society has "thrust" onto us?
I'm sure if I thought about it, I could come up with a few.
I'm just too tired to think.
Estoy muy cansada, no puedo pensar.
For some reason, whenever I get reeaaallly tired lately, I start writing simple sentences in Spanish.
I wonder why.
*sigh*
Well, I probably should go to sleep.
G'nite, everyone.

Sunday School

Some of the cutest children you'll ever meet...
Hosted by Photobucket.com

...sleep...

my head tips forward
my chin hits my chest
my eyelids weigh a hundred pounds
i'd like to see you keep them open
first one yawn then another
my eyelashes brush against my cheek
my arms are heavy
and my feet sluggish
i can barely drag myself
another step
finally, i collapse
and sprawl where i am
without thought
for comfort
or warmth
so tired am i
i do not move
i use my arm for a pillow
as my eyelids fall closed
and my breathing steadies
i am borne on the wings
of slumber
to the land of dreams
and. . . finally. . .
i. . . . . .
. . . . . . . .
sleep. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Sleep

They say that sleepiness is a natural high, or that it duplicates what happens when you get drunk.
I don't know if I believe that or not...
But if I did,
I would not be a very nice drunk. I get cranky and mean when I'm tired. Grouchy. Grumpy. Irritated. Not a nice person.
Unless I have transcended from sleepy to pure exhaustion. Then I become giddy.
So...
I dunno what the point of this was.....
I'm going to... go to.... sleep......

*Prospice

"Fear death?--to feel the fog in my throat,
The mist in my face,
When the snows begin, and the blasts denote
I am nearing the place.
The power of the night, the press of the storm
The post of the foe;
Where he stands, the Arch Fear in visible form
Yet the strong man must go
For the journey is done and the summit attained
And the barriers fall
Though a battle's to fight ere the guerdon be gained
The reward of it all
I was ever a fighter, so--one fight more
The best and the last!
I would hate that death bandaged my eyes and forebore,
And bade me creep past.
No! Let me taste the whole of it, fare like my peers,
The heroes of old,
Bear the brunt, in a minute pay glad life's arrears
Of pain, darkness, and cold.
For sudden the worst turns the best to the brave
The black minute's at end,
And the elements rage, the fiend-voices that rave
Shall dwindle, shall blend,
Shall change, shall become first a peace out of pain
Then a light, then thy breast
O thou soul of my soul! I shall clasp thee again,
And with God be the rest!

--Robert Browning--

A rogue warrior haunted by his past
A lone wanderer looking for peace
A doubting Believer searching for answers
Different roads, the same Path

ah, grilled cheese on soudough bread: one of the finer things in life....

Second First Day

Okay, so the title doesn't exactly make sense. But since I have two sets of classes, MW and TTh, this was my Second "First" Day. So. There you have it.

Dr. Seymour was twenty-five minutes late for class today, because she forgot about it. Oooops. I felt really bad for her, because she felt so guilty. Then she gave her, "You should drop this class because I am the hardest teacher on campus and you'll hate me" speech. It was great fun, since I heard it last semester. She does her best to scare people off, and it doesn't exactly work.
According to her, I'm "massacistic." Did I spell that right?

We have to keep journals for Spanish. That shouldn't be too much of a problem. Since Kathey isn't taking Spanish this semester *bursts into tears* I have to find another partner. Abe should do nicely. We sit in this little clump in a corner of the classroom: Katie, Hilary, Abe, Andrea, and I. All us siblings with our "Linguistic Mother." There are only two Proyecto Orals, but three essays and two *ick* film reviews.
And there are a TON more Native Speakers in the class. Cheeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaateeeeeeeerssssssss!!!!!!!!!!
(But no Sergio)
We had to tell each other what our favorite hour is, and why it is, then tell the class. I played Teacher's Pet first day, and said my favorite hour was Four, because that was when Spanish class started. *grin*
There are thirty some-odd kids in Spanish, so there's no danger of it being cancelled.

My spinning class is in danger, though. There is a lecture class right next to us at the same time, and spinning is rather noisy business, what with the music and all. For some strange reason, the lecture class can't or won't move to another room. I don't know why, so I hesitate to say that they're in the wrong. I'm tempted too, though. There are plenty of lecture rooms, but only one spinning room. It's hard to move stationary bikes. *Joke* I suppose we could just ride them somewhere.... :-)

I have to buy a new book for Critical Thinking. *grumbles* I also have to write a two page paper on what a wonderful person I am and why people who don't know me should give me money. In other words, I'm applying for a scholarship.

And I'm also really, really tired. Fortunately, I don't have to work tomorrow until eleven, and then only for about four hours. That's not too bad.
Then we go to Fairfield and listen to Bro. Joel Booker, who is shaping up to be every inch the preacher that his father is.

I think that's the longest, most cohesive post I've written in quite a while. I'd better end it before I start sounding like a *bitter voice* epileptic gnat.

DSM, signing off.

School Days, School Daze

Dear old golden rule days...
Hosted by Photobucket.com

School started today.

Calculus and Walking today.

Calculus, Spinning, Critical Thinking, and Spanish tomorrow.

Fun, fun.

They redid the Cafeteria. A new catering group took over. Looks rather spiffy, if a bit pricey. I don't know how I feel about that yet.

I went to the library. Both libraries, actually. I talked to my librarian. It was nifty cool.

Family is here. Uncle Carl, Aunt Vicktater, and Jarron. No Preston. He got a life. Too bad for him. :-)

In case you hadn't noticed, I now have Photobucket. (Thanks for the tip, Amanda) Which means that I can put pictures on my blog at random now. You'll see them popping up every now and again. Sometimes there will be a reason, but I bet that more often than not, there won't be.

See you tonight.

Mwahahahahaha

Stan just set up my Christmas gift.
Guess what it is!

Internet. In my room.
HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

*evil laughter*

And tomorrow, Stan's giving my last year's Christmas gift. A trip to San Fransisco.
But don't blame him for tardiness. We've both been busy.

two more days of blissful freedom

In other news:

In case you hadn't heard yet, Mom came through her last surgery beautifully. The doctors say it was textbook perfect. Mom looks bright eyed and chipper, and right out of recovery said she felt like going home and doing housework! Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow!
She'll be in the hospital until Monday, just so the doctors can make sure everything is working all right. But she says she feels great.
Thanks for all your prayers.
It looks like this is finally over.

We interrupt this blog...

Look.
People.
PLEASE!
If you don't know me, and/or you don't like what I post
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
don't comment.
I don't need to know that.
No one else does.
Just read it, and go.
And leave it at that.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled blog.

January 19th

I'm trying to decide if I'm looking forward to school or not. It just seems like I've got an awfully heavy schedule, and none of my classes are going to be incredibly enjoyable. I mean, I like Math, so Calculus won't be a drag, but it is at eight in the morning, four days a week.... I'm not too sure how I feel about my Critical Thinking class, even though I love to write and I had a lot of fun with Eng120. Spanish will be interesting, but very challenging, made enjoyable by my classmates, but not enjoyable in and of itself. Just hard work with nice rewards. My PE classes, walking and spinning, will be the same. Nice rewards, but not fun of themselves. Although walking will be made enjoyable by the presence of Michelle. Also the Critical Thinking class. Watch out, Dr. Seymour, you've got two introverted cynics coming your way. At least.... I think Michelle is part cynic. Kathey and Katie and Hilary will be in Spanish, along with some student from Spanish 2.

All in all, I'm not too sure about how excited to be. I dunno. *shrugs* Maybe I think too much. I'm gonna go cool down.

The oddest thing....

It never ceases to amaze me that I can sit for hours and write and write and write without tiring or running out of ideas...
And yet the moment I pull up my blog window, I have nothing to say.

So... The Robertsons are still here. That's cool. The girls are fun, Aunt T and Uncle Jim are fun. It works. They're not "company" company, but "family" company.
I just wish Chvana and Kaylah were here, too.

Derek has some (insert adjective of choice) news, but I'll let him tell you. I don't want to steal his thunder.

My fingers are cold. Just in case you wanted to know.

Brandon is gone. Again. *grumble*

Oh. It's a New Year and I haven't made any reference to the fact. Umm..... Feliz Ano Nuevo? *shrugs*

Didn't go to work today. Can't say that I was crushed. I think I need a new job. (But I don't want suggestions yet. I'm still in the "thinking it through" stage.)

I've been reading. I highly recommend it. It's very relaxing.

People who can talk and talk and talk and never run out of things to say simply amaze me. I can write and write and write, but that's different. If you don't understand how it's different.... go ask somebody else. I don't feel like explaining it.

So.... we went to Monterey. I babysat. I went to work. We had a Watchnight.

Oh... New Year's Eve... Something funny, but don't tell anyone. Shhh. I was sitting next to someone, and this someone was drinking sparkling cider. This person looks at me, looks at the cider, and says: "If this were wine, I might be sitting in your lap right now."
I replied: "If it were wine, I might let you."

If you don't think it's funny.... I s'pose you hadta've been there.

Theme

Did I mention that I got a tea pot for Christmas? :)

Time for a change

*looks around, hands on her hips*
This is waaaaaay too depressing for me right now.
*scurries off to change her theme and background*
