Rest Easy ~AA~

I am not a bold man
Even though I wanna be
I am just a dreamer
With a timid history
Scared of confrontation
I fume all through the night
The world has its hold on me
And I just want to fly
The sky, the sky
Is open wide
But I can't fly
'Til I step aside

Rest easy
Have no fear
I love you perfectly
And perfect loves casts out fear
I'll take your burdens
You take My grace
Rest easy
In My embrace --AA--

Something to Ponder

Winnie the Pooh and Piglet were walking together in the forest one day.
"I have to be going now," Pooh said.
"Where are you going?" Piglet asked.
"That's not important, Piglet. The important thing is that wherever I am, I promise that I'll always be the same distance from you as you are from me."

Wanna Buy a Watch?

Years ago, a king offered great wealth to the man who could present him with a single sentence, words that could be applied to every situation the king might encounter in his life. The prize was awarded to a man who came to the king and handed him a bit of parchment with four words neatly printed on it:
"This too shall pass."

Stephen Crane

A Man Said to the Universe
A man said to the universe:
“Sir, I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation.”

I Saw a Man Pursuing the Horizon
I saw a man pursuing the horizon:
Round and round they sped.
I was disturbed at this:
I accosted the man.
“It is futile,” I said,
“You can never—“

“You lie,” he cried,
And ran on.

Estoy Enferma....

I'm sick.

And I don't want to go to school tomorrow.
*sniff*
If I were still in High School, I wouldn't.

Blast College!

Quick update:
Snow trip was fun. Acquired assorted bruises and a new experience: skiing. Can't say I enjoyed it too terribly much. Nathaniel blacked out in the rental shop, poor kid, and was banned from all strenuous activities the rest of the day. Michael ate a pickled pig's foot, after eating a raw egg, butter, sardines, then topped it all off with a can of whipped cream. Honestly, that guy has a stomach of steel. Blech. That, by the way, was the results of Bro. Paul, Morgan, and Matt's idea of Fear Factor. Eat the grossest things they could think of. It was entertaining, if a little stomach-churning. I'm just glad girls aren't expected to do those sort of things to prove their womanhood, or whatever.
Also, Brandon should be here by now. By here, I mean in Napa. For two weeks. I'm so happy.
And.... um.... I have an essay due tomorrow, and I've done the reading for it. Proud of me? *ducks*

The Charge

The sunlight shone, animals fled
The birds had flown and left the glade
Trumpets were blown, decisions made
A charge was to be led

The foe was vast, their numbers large
The die was cast, and fate was set
They could not last, the end was met
But what they did was charge

Those five hundred, those brave few men
Down they thundered, to the valley
The foe blundered, could not rally
Could not meet the charge then

The swords they clashed, the sparks they flew
The sunlight flashed, war cries sounded
Their strengths were matched, foe was hounded
Though they that charged were few

As the tide turned, the vanquished fled
Honor was spurned, foe retreated
And they soon learned they were defeated
By the charge that was led

They bravely fought and glory won
Freedom was bought and paid with blood
Victory sought those few that stood
After the charge was done

Tea and tots

Tea at Kathey's house today. It was most enjoyable. It is a tradition that the Americans sadly lost and never regained. It really should be resurrected. At least, in my circles, anyway. *Grin*
Watched the tots at church tonight.
I don't even want to talk about it.
See ya'll tomorrow.

"My Arms Are Strong" ~One Careful Owner

Come to me, my darling child.
Is the world upsetting you?
I'll hold you in my arms a while
Nothing's so bad
Don't you know that I will protect you, protect you
My arms are strong
I will carry you home forever
My arms are strong
I will carry you home forever
Some have let you down, I know
No one hurts like friends
So wear my love like winter clothes
And weather the storm
Weather the winter again and again
My arms are strong
I will carry you home forever
My arms are strong
I will carry you home forever
And if you find one day
You're just not feeling right
And if you wake up and
You just can't sleep at night
And if you turn around
No one's there, no one's there
I'll be yours forever and ever
Nothing's so bad
Don't you know that I will protect you, protect you
My arms are strong
I will carry you home forever
My arms are strong
I will carry you home forever
Carry you home
My arms are strong
I will carry you home...
Forever

"All I Ask of You" ~Phantom

No more talk of darkness, Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I'm here, nothing can harm you -my words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom, Let daylight dry your tears.
I'm here, with you, beside you, to guard you and to guide you . . .
Say you love me every waking moment, turn my headwith talk of summertime . . .
Say you need me with you, now and always . . .promise me that all you say is true -that's all I ask of you . . .
Let me be your shelter, let me be your light.
You're safe: No one will find you; your fears are far behind you . . .
All I want is freedom, a world with no more night . . .and you always beside me to hold me and to hide me . . .
Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime . . .let me lead you from your solitude . . .
Say you need me with you here, beside you . . .anywhere you go, let me go too -
That's all I ask of you . . .
Say you'll share with me
One love, one lifetime . . .
Say the word and I will follow you . . .
Share each day with me, each night, each morning . . .
Say you love me . . .
Love me -that's all I ask of you . . .
Love me, that's all I ask of you

Ser o Esta: Eso Es la Pregunta!

Yesterday was a bad day.
Last night was an awful night.
Today is a good day.

I knew that yesterday would be not so great the moment I stepped outside. First, because I was outside at 7am, but that happens four days out of the week, so that wasn't a big deal. The thing that tipped me off was that there wasn't a hint of rain in the sky, and it was warm. At 7 in the morning. It was warm. End-of-Springtime warm. And it's still the middle of winter. Wasn't too happy 'bout that.
Then things just went down hill. The main problem is that I have too much homework and not enough time to do it all in. I was feeling very lousy, then I had chocolate, then I only felt pretty lousy. So. There it is.

And last night, I couldn't sleep until 1130ish, and that is very bad, especially when, as I keep reminding you, one has to arise from their slumber at 630. Why do I feel the need to keep telling you that? I dunno. Anyway, I dreamed that my mother died. It was not cool, and I don't want to talk about it.

But today was better. I finished my Spanish tarea last night, so I didn't have to do that today. My math teacher gave us an extension on the homework, glory hallelujah. And I spent time with my mother, albeit with my sister as well and in the laundromat, but it was time with my mother nonetheless. And the only time Sarah and I argued was when she tried to touch my face without warning me first. I hate that, and she knows it. But I suppose she forgets sometimes.

And now I have to go make Jelly Tarts, finish my homework, and go help with the dinner tonight.

Fun fun.
