Into the West
"Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away. Safe in my arms, you're only sleeping..." ~Into the West, LotR

Cold Hands

Night has fallen
A thousand stars glitter in the sky
Like raindrops glistening on black velvet
Or diamonds sprinkled among coal
A cool breeze blows
And it’s quiet
Too quiet
The silence haunts me
The emptiness taunts me
The stillness only reminds me
That you’re not there
Your seat is vacant
My hand is cold
My voice echoes in my ears
And no reply comes
All I know is loneliness
And all I feel is emptiness
When I raise my eyes to meet yours
All I see are stars
And the breeze turns to wind
A bitter wind that stings my face
Clouds roll in to cover the stars
The stars that held such wonder for us
Such promise, such future
The rain falls
It washes away my tears
Dries my fears
Sweeps away the past
But I still feel the loss
A thousand thunderstorms
Could never make me forget
The way you looked at me
A million raindrops
Could never erase the sound of your voice
From my mind
And I do mind
I mind that fate has seen fit to fling us apart
I mind that the bench beside me is cold
The clouds are blown away by the bitter wind
My heart is bathed in moonlight
Dried in the night air
Kissed to sleep by the cool breeze
The stars are particularly dazzling tonight
They glitter coldly, silent and harsh
And my hand is still cold

Dance--Mario Frangoulis

I see those vulnerable eyes
They're as deep as the darkest of oceans
I sense the loneliest heart
Holding back your fragile emotions
I feel you wanna let go
Inside of my arms just know
You're safe with me, let's
Dance like there's nobody watching
Sing as if no one is listening to
What you're hearing
Love like you've never been hurt before
Try to forget if you can
And just dance
I've known the coldest of nights
Lay awake trying to stop myself dreaming
There in the emptiest space
In my head the music stopped playing
Right now all I wanna do
Is lose myself in you and me
Just be, let's
Dance like there's nobody watching
Sing as if no one is listening to
What you're hearing
Love like we'venever been hurt before
Try to forget if we can
And just dance
Why don't we dance and pretend we know how to fly
Like we've never been scared of heights
No fear of falling
Love like we've never been hurt before
Forget where our feet will land
And just dance

Draw Near--GM

Can I trust you?
Would you love me if you really knew the one inside?
I'm afraid to open up and let you into what I've learned to hide
You say you want to know me
You want to help me through
Well, here is what I'll ask of you
Draw near to me
And we will walk together
Draw near to me
Through the sun and through the rain
And you will see that we are not so different
That our struggles and our pain are very much the same
But you must come near to me
There are times when I feel like an island in the middle of the sea
How hard the wind is blowing
I'm alone and wondering if someone will rescue me
I feel guilty in the asking
I should quote a verse or two
But I will risk being honest with you

Nobody's Home

King: Who did you pass on the road?
Messenger: Nobody.
King: Of course, Nobody walks slower than you.
Messenger: I do my best. I'm sure nobody walks much faster than I do.
King: He can't do that or else he'd have been here first.

"It Is Well"

When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot
Thou has taught me to say
"It is well, it is well with my soul"

Realization

I am not an idealist.
I don't want to change the world.
I don't want to do great and marvelous things with my life.
I just want to live.
Probably get married.
Teach Sunday School.
For the rest of my life.
Is that so bad?

Beautiful Friendship

The words slip past my lips
Through the air
Into your ears
But I didn’t say what you heard
And you didn’t hear what I meant to say
You comment on what you heard
I disagree
Because we’re not talking about the same thing
You claim I’m illogical
I say you’re defensive
And we lash out
Since I’m proud of my logic
And you’re proud of your openness
It’s so confusing
When we’re talking
But not communicating
I don’t know
How to understand you anymore
You can’t figure out
How to interpret my statements
We’ve drifted apart
And we’re not the people we once were
We’ve changed
But not together
And your words
Don’t match my definitions
My actions
Don’t fit your ideals
It’s really too bad
Because it could have been
A beautiful friendship

Again.... *sighs*

something within reach
and yet unattainable
held tantalizingly close
then jerked cruelly away
stepping down to the floor
to have it yanked out from beneath
biting into chocolate-covered tofu
reaching the surface
and inhaling water
taking off from a cliff
wings sprouting from your arms
with the lead feathers

Aha!

*comes up for air and flings a post at her blog*

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Jane, who had blue hair. One day, she was walking through the forest and she met a little pig who led her to a little pink house. A big, furry, pink beast opened the door. Princess Jane was so shocked that she fainted. The big, furry, pink, beast knew exactly what to do because he was a fairy tale major at the Hansel and Gretel University. He picked up Princess Jane, kissed her, and they both turned into pumpkins. They were quite happy until Peter Peter came along and turned them into a house for his wife.

Word

I wish I would stop coughing. *grumble grumble* It's not a little cough every few seconds, but big coughs every twenty minutes or so. Even spaced so far apart, I wish it would just go away. I mean, I know it will... eventually. But I want it gone now. I feel fine otherwise, why can't this go away too? *sigh*

I need to change my blog theme. I've had this one since Christmas. Any ideas, Kat?

I have approximately twenty minutes before critical thinking class. I think the differences between inductive and deductive finally clicked in my brain. That should increase my chances of passing the midterm by about 75%. And since I've been hearing about fallacies since Stan was in CT, I shouldn't have a problem with that part.

Math is... still there. It's not too bad, I s'pose.

I go by the library and my librarian always asks, "So, have you read anything new lately?" Unfortunately, all I've read recently are comic books and my Spanish book.

Speaking of which, we have an exam today on the Preterite vs. the Imperfect. Blast from the past, right Kathey? Hm... Maybe I should dig up our "most excellent fairytale".
Be right back...
